OCEANSIDE - North County Transit District (NCTD) is inviting families back Dec. 3 for Santa’s COASTER Express, one of North County’s most popular holiday traditions. Tickets are $6 for the round-trip train ride that features Santa, his wife, and a company of their festive friends on board. All proceeds will benefit the Community Resource Center and the Wounded Warrior Project.
Families will have two chances to get on board with trains leaving Oceanside at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Santa’s COASTER Express takes approximately 1.5 hours to travel to San Diego and back to Oceanside without any stops. The ride will feature decorated train cars, holiday singing, photo opportunities with the jolly man himself, and other goodies for children who made it on Santa’s “nice list” this year. This memorable holiday experience is recommended for families with children between the ages of 3 and 10.
Tickets must be purchased in advance from Oceanside Transit Center at 205 S. Tremont. Tickets, which often sell out quickly, went on sale on Wednesday, Nov. 16. NCTD can only accept cash for this event. When purchasing tickets, individuals will have the opportunity to make additional donations to both charities. To ensure smooth boarding, each ticket will specify the starting time and train car number. Tickets are required for passengers of all ages.
Families are encouraged to arrive at least 20 minutes early. Parking is free and plentiful at Oceanside Transit Center.
