Fallbrook High School’s girls junior varsity cross-country team placed 11th among the 17 JV girls teams at the Jaguar Invitational meet Oct. 21 at Kit Carson Park.
“It was a good showing,” said Fallbrook head coach Troy Hamlin. “They performed well overall.”
The junior varsity girls race had a total of 212 runners. Hannah Valasquez was Fallbrook’s first finisher, taking 21st place with a time of 18:56 on the 2.6-mile course. The Jaguar Invitational gave medals to the top 60 finishers in the race, and Kiera Donoghue also earned a medal after her 55th-place time of 19:38.
Gabriela Medina finished 81st after taking 20:08 to complete the course. Selina Eich’s time of 20:26 was worth 92nd place. Sarah Girgis posted a 102nd-place time of 20:38. Rachel Jones took 20:53 for 112th place while Rachel Bell’s time of 20:54 made her the 113th finisher and Alexi Eich finished 118th with a time of 20:59.
“I think as a group they grew from it,” Hamlin said.
