If a Good Samaritan hadn’t heard the screams of a woman and intervened in an incident in which her estranged husband was beating and attempting to kidnap her along Stage Coach Lane this week, it is uncertain what the woman’s fate would have become.
The assailant, 28-year-old Santiago Lopez, of Temecula, had been following his 24-year-old estranged wife (whose identity has been withheld) of Fallbrook as she drove southbound on Interstate 15 on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at about 6:45 p.m. when the woman suddenly became aware that her estranged husband’s sport utility vehicle was behind hers.
