SAN DIEGO – San Diego County environmental health officials announced Friday, Nov, 18 that local residents should throw out any Ready Pac bagged salad products containing romaine lettuce and stamped with a “use by” date of Nov. 18 because they may have been contaminated with E. coli bacteria.
The products were sold locally in Trader Joe’s stores and had been removed from shelves Friday. Officials said there have been no reported cases of illness linked to the products, but urged the public to be cautious because the products may have already been purchased by some consumers.
