Site preparation finished for new Silvergate Suites

FALLBROOK – Grading and groundwork needed to begin construction on Silvergate Suites, a new $3.5 million state-of-the-art facility for memory care on the campus of Silvergate Fallbrook Retirement Residence, has been completed.

Memory care support has emerged recently as a new service in the senior living industry; primarily in response to the growing demand for services dedicated to serving people suffering from Alzheimer’s and related diseases. The new project will provide the largest memory care facility in Fallbrook, with 16 new apartments and 24 beds.

Lusardi Construction Company is heading up the project and construction is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2012.

The first phase of construction consisted of excavating soil for the basement of the new facility and grading the entire project site in preparation for the construction of the building. This first project milestone was completed on schedule and with the cooperation of Fallbrook Public Utility District and the North County Fire Protection District. The second phase, which includes installing underground utilities, storm water management systems and pouring the concrete building slab, will be underway shortly.

Silvergate Fallbrook opened its doors in 1990 and offers independent and assisted living services to its 121 residents at 420 Elbrook Drive. It is owned by AmeriCare Health &

Retirement, Inc.
