FALLBROOK - After graduating from Fallbrook Union High School in June 2012, senior infielder and four-year varsity starter Kaylie Drew will play college softball at the University of Hawaii, Hilo. Hilo is a Division II school that competes in the Pacific West Conference, in which they tied for second place last year with an impressive 21-7 record. Although a pitcher/third baseman for the Warriors, Drew will compete for the starting position at first base for the Vulcans.
While she is a Fallbrook Warrior at heart, Drew credits much of her success to being a player for the San Diego Rebels organization, coached by Terry Fick.
“Kaylie is a versatile corner infielder, team leader and has a powerful bat," said Fick. "She has put an incredible amount of energy into making it to the next level and should be congratulated.”
As a member of the Fallbrook High softball program, Drew has earned First and Second Team All-League honors and in 2011 was voted to the All-North County team. She was also recognized by the San Diego Union Tribune as an outstanding student-athlete by being selected to the San Diego County All-Academic Team.
A natural leader, Drew will again serve as the Lady Warriors varsity team captain this Spring and is currently the senior class president of Fallbrook Union High School.
