The Atomic Punks play at Pala

The Atomic Punks, a Van Halen tribute band which played at Pala Casino’s Infinity nightclub Nov. 26, refers to itself as “A tribute to early Van Halen.” That means the band only performs the songs from when David Lee Roth was with Van Halen, which recorded six albums before Roth left the band after the “1984” album and was replaced by Sammy Hagar.

The Atomic Punks were able to perform 24 of those songs during their two-hour concert at Pala, although two of those were part of a medley interspersed between “You Really Got Me.” The total of 22 numbers perform...
