Household and electronic waste to be collected

FALLBROOK – There will be a household hazardous waste, electronic waste and unused medication collection event for unincorporated area residents of San Diego County from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Ingold Sports Park, 2551 Olive Hill Road, Fallbrook.

Up to 15 gallons or 125 pounds of waste will be accepted per vehicle and a limit of five television or computer monitors (CRTs) per car.

Home-generated “sharps” including syringes, needles and lancets will be collected at this event. Please transport in a closed, rigid container.

In coordination with the Sheriff’s Department, a medication drop box will be provided for the safe collection of unwanted medications, including controlled substances.

Items that will not be accepted include business waste, tires, ammunition, explosive and radioactive materials, air conditioners and large appliances.

This event is sponsored by the County of San Diego, Department of Environmental Health in cooperation with the Ingold Sports Park and the County Sheriff’s Department.
