RIVERSIDE- SAN DIEGO - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire fell today for the 24th consecutive day, dropping 1.3 cents to $3.602, its lowest amount since Feb. 24.
The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties is 6.4 cents less than one week ago and 23.2 cents lower than a month ago but 39 cents more than a year ago, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.
The average price has dropped 22.4 cents over the past 24 days, including four-tenths of a cent on Thursday.
The decreasing prices are the result of lower demand, which is typical for the fall, according to Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.

The average price is 5.3 cents less than one week ago and 24.5 cents lower than a month ago, but 35.6 cents more than a year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price has fallen 25.1 cents over the past 30 days, including a half-cent on Thursday.
