FALLBROOK – The Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce and the Fallbrook Film Factory (host of the Fallbrook Film Festival) have agreed to a cooperative alliance that both believe will be of great benefit to the community.
Beginning in April 2013, the evolving plan calls for a month-long springtime happening called April in Fallbrook, kicking off with an International Film Festival on the first weekend and including the fabulous Avocado Festival on the third weekend. Other community-wide April 2013 events will be announced as they evolve.
“Fallbrook is a unique, culturally rich, diverse, divinely located community and we are all better off for being part of it” says Ronald Shattuck, acting director of the Film Festival.
“By joining forces with the Chamber we hope to help promote - through the love of film - the many rewards of this friendly village and our neighboring areas. In turn, the Chamber can assist us in garnering greater community support and gaining additional needed corporate-level sponsorship.”
“We are very excited about adding the film festival as part of the Fallbrook experience”, says Richard Kennedy, CEO of the Fallbrook Chamber. “In addition to the seventy-plus films they screened this year, the film festival had two Oscar-winning personalities in attendance, several films from Sundance, plus Frank Capra III, Director David Ellis, four outstanding workshops, and a 240 person, full-course, gala awards dinner hosted by Pala Casino. This is an event that can grow bigger and bigger over time.”
Because of this important new alliance, the Film Festival Committee has decided to forego a 2012 festival to allow more time to structure the 2013 event which will now be officially called The Fallbrook International Film Festival. The 2013 three-day event will be held April 5, 6 and 7 at UltraStar Cinemas, River Village Plaza in Bonsall.
