People like letter writer Jim Lowery represent just what is wrong in California. Instead of adapting an attitude of what can I do to continue to make California the wonderful place it is... they are content with chronically complaining about the good old days and what they don’t have.

History demonstrates that most people in the 1920s and 1930s, when times were much more difficult, rolled up their sleeves and made something happen in this country and for themselves.
