The San Diego County Water Authority now has an ordinance requiring that the entirety of the SDCWA’s Special Agricultural Water Rate discount is passed on to the actual agricultural water users.
The CWA board approved the ordinance Dec. 8. The requirement for CWA member agencies to pass on the entirety of the SAWR discount will take effect June 30 after CWA board discussion amended the staff-recommended April 1 date.
“We had hoped that the date would be effective June 30, which corresponds with our fiscal year,” said Ramona Municipal Water District general manager David Barnum.
