Fallbrook girl performs in Joffrey Ballet's Nutcracker

LOS ANGELES – Fallbrook resident Isabel Delgado-Betz, 10, had the opportunity to perform December 1 through 4 with the Joffrey Ballet in its presentation of The Nutcracker at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles. Betz performed as a “Snow Tree Angel.”

Joffrey’s production of the classic story featured 42 company dancers, 70 children, 40 musicians, the LA Opera’s orchestra, the National Children’s Chorus, dazzling costumes and imaginative sets. During its Los Angeles engagement, the production required the use of over 50 pounds of flame proof, paper punch snow mixed with hand cut silver paper to make the snow sparkle.

Betz began studying ballet at age four with Jackie Hepner Thurston who owned Ballet Society of North County in Fallbrook.
