Courts and most municipal offices to be closed Monday

RIVERSIDE - Courts and most municipal offices in Riverside County will be closed Monday for the Christmas holiday.

Because Christmas fell on a Sunday this year, public agencies made the following weekday a day off.

Law enforcement and fire department personnel will be on duty, but non- emergency local and state agencies will not be open for business again until Tuesday.

Trash and recycling services for residents in the city of Riverside will be suspended, and public transportation will run on a holiday schedule, returning to regular operation Tuesday.

All city and county libraries will be closed Monday but reopen Tuesday. Residents were encouraged to call ahead to verify individual libraries' hours of operation during the holiday period.
