April Brayfield

April Brayfield, Ph.D., Tulane Associate Professor of Sociology, died Dec. 13, 2011, following a long battle with cancer. She was a 1977 graduate of Fallbrook High School where she was Pep Club President, Warrior of the Year, treasurer of her senior class, member of the Madrigals, and Miss Congeniality in the Miss Fallbrook contest.

She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California at Riverside and completed her Ph.D. in sociology at the University of Maryland – College Park in 1990.
