My mother, Rita Singer, was a participant at the Fallbrook Adult Day Care Center, a.k.a. ‘The Club.’ Although Mom lived in an assisted care facility, it became apparent that she needed more stimulation through activities geared to her declining abilities.
At first, Mom resisted going to The Club, but shortly after starting, Mom became visibly happier, physically stronger, and looked forward to participating there. I attribute this change to Teddie Borges, the program’s excellent director, and her superb staff.
Teddie is very creative and has in-depth knowledge about memory afflicted people. She deals well with the temperaments and ever-changing capabilities of every participant. Teddie always found time to talk with me, share her observations about my mom, offer referrals, and provide reassurance to me.
I experienced peace of mind when Mom was at the program because I knew she was safe, respected, encouraged, and loved. Due to a possible move, I looked at care in other surrounding communities; they simply do not have anything close to the high caliber program offered at the Fallbrook Adult Day Care Center.
Mom died in November, but I believe she lived longer and had a better quality of life because of the care she received at The Club. I have recommended the program to others and would not hesitate to encourage anyone needing such services to consider the Fallbrook Adult Day Care Center.
