Saunders refs NCAA D2 championship match

Tom Saunders stepped down as Fallbrook High School’s boys volleyball coach after the 2008 season to pursue refereeing opportunities. Saunders, who still coaches a summer clinic in Fallbrook, refereed the first college championship match of his career December 3 in San Bernardino when Concordia-St. Paul defeated Cal State University San Bernardino in the NCAA Division II women’s final.

“Overall a good experience,” Saunders said.
