Wet, windy weather expected to arrive late today

SAN DIEGO COUNTY (Wire Service) - Wet and windy weather is expected to strike San Diego County late today.

According to the National Weather Service, a Pacific weather system will move into the region tonight and Saturday, bringing around a quarter to a third of an inch of rain to the coast and around an inch to west and southwest

mountain slopes.

The precipitation will be mostly light but "rather long in duration and will result in some slippery driving conditions," the agency advised.

Local wind gusts of up to 70 miles per hour are possible in mountains and desert areas on Saturday.
