2-year-old Perris boy dies from drive-by shooting in Coachella

COACHELLA - A 2-year-old boy died from wounds from a drive-by shooting that injured him and two men in Coachella, a sheriff's spokesman said today. The three were injured in a shooting in the 84000 block of Redondo Sur around 7:20 p.m. Wednesday, Riverside County Sheriff's Department Deputy Angel Ramos said. The toddler was transported to JFK Memorial Hospital in Indio, then to Loma Linda University Medical Center, where he died, Ramos said. One of the men hurt in the shooting had minor injuries and didn't need further medical attention, and the other was transported to a local hospital with ''non life-threatening'' wounds, Ramos said. Ramos said no arrests have been made and authorities currently are not releasing more information.
