3-year-old North County boy found unharmed

VISTA - A miscommunication between a North County couple on who was watching their toddler son today led the father to report the tyke missing and prompted authorities to search for him until he returned home unharmed under his mother's care several hours later.

The man made an emergency call about 1:50 p.m. to report that he couldn't find 3-year-old Frank Rodriguez at the family's Vista home, sheriff's spokeswoman Melissa Aquino said.

A volunteer search-and-rescue team fanned out through areas around the Arcadia Avenue residence, aided by a sheriff's helicopter crew making passes overhead.
