Fallbrook Camera Club holds annual banquet, presents awards

FALLBROOK - The Fallbrook Camera Club held its annual year-end banquet at San Luis Rey Country Club on Jan. 14. The Club has recently changed its annual calendar and at this banquet, honored the images shown at the club in the past six months and featured them on display.

Following a buffet dinner and raffle of donated prizes, slides and digital images were viewed. Year-end awards were also presented in various categories.

Awards included Image of the Year - Ed Lusby, ‘Coming in for a Landing;’ The Dr. Paul Kovach Award for Best Composition - Mike Reardon, ‘Brenecke’s Beach;’ Member’s Choice Special Award - Dennis Poole, ‘Hang On.’

High Points for Projected Images: First Place (tie) - Lin Craft and Mike Reardon, Third Place - Christel Lakata; High Points for Prints: First Place - Dennis Poole; Second Place - Kathy Elmore; Third Place - Shirley Binn; Prints: First Place - Shirley Binn, ‘Misty Trail;’ Second Place - Dennis Poole, ‘Blue Coat;’ Third Place - Shirley Poole, ‘Call of the Great Outdoors;’ Honorable Mention - Virginia Harris and Kathy Elmore.

Projected Images, Color: First Place - Gladys Wark, ‘Enjoying the Balloon Glow;’ Second Place - Shirley Binn, ‘Old Glory;’ Third Place - Mike Reardon, ‘Pouring Bronze;’ and Honorable Mention - Christel Lakata, Shirley Poole, and Sandy Schiefer.
