TEMECULA - An 11-year-old Temecula boy who was buried when a tunnel he was digging caved in on him remained in critical condition in a San Diego hospital today.
The child, whose name was not released, was being treated at Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego today, a sheriff's department spokesman said.
The boy and a friend were digging into the bank of Long Canyon Creek near the 40000 block of North General Kearny Road at about 4:10 p.m. Saturday when their playsite caved in, said sheriff's Sgt. Kevin McDonald.
