FULLERTON - A former Camp Pendleton-based Marine was convicted today of gross vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence in a 2009 crash that killed a fellow Marine and injured two others, but was acquitted of a more serious charge of manslaughter while intoxicated, according to a prosecutor.
Andrew Stueber, who has since been honorably discharged from the military, faces anywhere from probation to six years in prison, Deputy District Attorney Nancy Hayashida said. He could have faced up to 12 years in prison if he was convicted of the more serious charge, the prosecutor said.
