BLYTHE - A Blythe man accused of plotting to have two people killed pleaded not guilty today to attempted murder and other charges.
Earl Joseph Gomez, 47, faces two counts each of attempted murder and soliciting to commit murder. He entered his plea at the Blythe courthouse and is due back Feb. 16 for a felony settlement conference.
Gomez was arrested Tuesday following an investigation into a murder-for hire plot, Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Thomas Velarde said.
''The investigation determined that Gomez attempted to solicit a co- conspirator to have two persons murdered,'' Velarde alleged....
