County offers tax help for those who qualify

SAN DIEGO COUNTY – Individuals or families who worked in 2011 and earned less than $48,500 could qualify for as much as $5,600 in EITC tax credit. However, they must file a tax return to be eligible. The County of San Diego can assist those people in filing them for free.

Through April 18, more than 400 volunteers will be filing taxes electronically at about 80 locations throughout the region. Residents can call 2-1-1 to make an appointment at a location nearby.
