Re: 'We are not being paid to attend quarry meeting' [Letter, Village News, 2/2/2012]

In response to an outrageous reference in this letter that supporters of Liberty Quarry are being paid is completely out of the realm of clear thinking. Comments like this are one of many reasons I support Granite and the quarry.

I have not attended any of the meetings, but after reading this statement, I feel compelled to state why I support the quarry.

It has my support because of the solid middle class jobs it will create with no negative impact on the environment, and I am not being paid to say this. I am basing my comments on my love for this community, and the creation of jobs. You would be hard-pressed to find anyone who appreciates and enjoys nature more than I do. About seven years ago, we had lakefront acreage in Grass Valley, Calif. where we passed a quarry operation every day; I speak from experience.

So, please discontinue your foolishness and support the creation of jobs and help bring back the middle class incomes and resulting lifestyle. I pass by many anti-quarry signs that have not been disturbed, as you state. I hope many people will wear green in support of jobs.
