FHS student competes with CA All Star Cheer Team

FALLBROOK – Kalani Aguigui, a Fallbrook High School junior, competed with her team, CA All Star Bullets Senior Elite level 5, in Las Vegas over the Christmas break. Teams from as far away as New Jersey and Hawaii vied for the coveted $25,000 grand prize.

Kalani’s team is based in San Marcos and is made up of only 20 girls. She is one of the youngest members of the team and the only one from Fallbrook. Several girls relocated from Arizona after making the team and a couple girls travel from Las Vegas every weekend to practice with their teammates after they made the squad earlier this year.

The team placed first, winning the National Grand Championship, as well as Best Dancers and Judges Cup awards, earned the $25,000 cash prize and an invitation to compete at this year’s Worlds Cheerleading competition being held in the spring. The $25,000 will help the team pay for travel expenses and hotel accommodations for the Worlds competition.

The next big competition for the team will be held in Dallas, Texas in late February; if they place in the top three, their team performance will be televised on Fox’s Wide World of Sports. This will be Kalani’s second year competing on a World Cheer team; she also enjoys cheering for her local high school team, the Fallbrook Warriors.
