Three Men Suspected of Staging Cockfights Arrested in Jurupa Valley

JURUPA VALLEY - Deputies arrested a Jurupa Valley man, his brother and his son on suspicion of animal cruelty and illegal gambling after finding evidence of cockfighting at the man's residence today, according to a sheriff's department spokesman.

The homeowner, Martin Lujano Ruezga, 47, his son, Miguel Angel Ruezga, 25, and his brother, Filiberto Ruezga, 62, were booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside, sheriff's Sgt. Ralph Rico said.

At about 9:30 a.m. today, deputies served a search warrant in the 4000 block of Kenneth Street in Jurupa Valley.
