Corvette Crashes in Aguanga, Driver in Critical Condition

AGUANGA - A Corvette crashed in Aguanga today, leaving the driver in critical condition, a fire department spokeswoman said.

The crash happened about 8:45 a.m. at Sage Road and Highway 79, CalFire's Melody Hendrickson said. According to a California Highway Patrol report, the driver of the Corvette swerved to miss a traffic hazard and lost control of his vehicle, which overturned on the side of the road.

The driver, who was not identified, was flown to a hospital, Hendrickson said.
