Smoke seen east of Interstate 15 is from Palomar Mountain controlled burns

Fallbrook and Temecula-area residents have been able to see smoke in the area of Palomar Mountain today, Thurs., March 15, due to controlled burns that will continue through tomorrow.

According to Heather Beer of the Palomar Volunteer Fire Department, controlled burns are being done in the Fry Creek area and the State park to reduce brush.

The burns are expected to be completed by the end of day Friday, March 16.
