Winter Storm Expected to Drench Inland Empire

RIVERSIDE - A late winter storm packing rain, wind and snow will hit Riverside County this weekend, bringing sorely needed precipitation to the parched region, forecasters said.

According to the National Weather Service, a trough of low pressure will sweep through the Inland Empire on Saturday, with turbulent weather conditions persisting into Monday.

One to two inches of rain is possible at lower elevations, while up to two feet of snow could fall above 5,000 feet. Forecasters said snow levels will drop to around 2,500 feet on Saturday night.
