Track and field starts season at Mt. Carmel field/distance meet

Fallbrook High School’s track and field teams began the 2012 season March 3 at the Mount Carmel Field and Distance Invite meet.

“We had a pretty good day overall,” said Fallbrook head coach Troy Hamlin.

The 800-meter and 1,600-meter events include freshmen races, and Fallbrook’s Elijah Roque medaled in both. Roque had a time of 2:16.80 in the boys 800-meter race to place third. His 4:59.76 performance in the 1,600-meter run placed fourth while breaking five minutes in his first race. “That’s very impressive,” Hamlin said. “He’s going to be a huge talent in the future.”
