Shallow quake reported in Coachella Valley

INDIO - A small but shallow earthquake struck the Coachella Valley today, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The temblor struck with a magnitude of 3.4 at 8:15 a.m. at a depth of 1.2 miles, its epicenter 11 miles north-northeast of Indio and 20 miles south- southwest of Twenty-nine Palms, according to a computer-generated USGS report.

There were no immediate reports of damages....
