Authorities searching for man charged with attempted kidnapping of three children in Hemet

HEMET - A man accused of trying to abduct three children in Hemet and San Jacinto was on the run today, with investigators seeking leads as to his whereabouts.

Kareem Amil Lewis, 33, of Hemet, is charged with three counts each of attempted kidnapping, annoying a minor and communicating with a child with the intent to commit a felony.

He has an outstanding warrant for his arrest with bail set at $1 million.
