Suspects Rob French Valley Bank, Elude Capture

FRENCH VALLEY - Two men robbed a French Valley bank today and got away before Riverside County sheriff's deputies arrived.

The holdup was about 9:15 a.m. at a Wells Fargo Bank branch in the 38000 block of Sky Canyon Drive, just outside Murrieta.

According to sheriff's Sgt. Andy Woods, two masked suspects entered the bank, brandished handguns and demanded money from a teller, who handed over an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robbers fled the location northbound on foot, but likely made their way to a vehicle parked in the immediate area, Woods said.

A search turned up no clues.
