Attempted sexual assault in Anza, suspect at large

ANZA - On Monday, April 16, at approximately 5 p.m., deputies and investigators from the Hemet Station responded to an attempted sexual assault in the community of Anza.

The victim, a 16-year-old girl, walked home alone from Hamilton High School. While taking a shortcut through an open field, she was attacked and taken to the ground by an adult male suspect. During the assault, the teenager fought back and was able break free from the attacker. She ran to the home of a nearby friend and reported the incident.

The victim was not injured during the attack.
