Thomas Ritchie

It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of Margaret Sacks of Fallbrook announces the passing of her brother, Thomas Ritchie, peacefully in Brampton, Ontario, Canada on April 8, 2012. Tom was born Jan. 30, 1924 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada to Daniel R. Ritchie and Janet (Binnie).

He served as leading seaman of the Royal Canadian Navy Coastal Services, 65th Flotilla in the English Channel during World War II. He began his own company, R&M Plastics, in 1966 in Brampton, Ontario. Tom received his Second Paul Harris Award from the Brampton Rotary Club in 2010, was an avid golfer, and impressive magician.

He will be forever missed by his loving wife of 67 years, Betty M. (Tomney); children Brian (deceased 2003) & Wendy, Bob & Linda Ritchie, Susan & Frank Romanelli; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Walter & Denise Ritchie, Margaret Sacks, Alex & Del Ritchie.
