The Chordettes visit Fallbrook on their "Lost in the Fifty's Tour"

FALLBROOK – The Chordettes present “A Matinee of Memories” live on Fallbrook’s Mission Theatre stage 2 p.m., Sunday, April 22.

“The girls premiered on the Arthur Godfrey Show in 1946 and began a career which lasted until the 60’s and crowned them as the most popular woman’s group in musical history,” according to booking chairman, Dave Aranda-Richards. Their string of number one hits clearly set them apart from all others.

Those songs include “Lollipop,” “Never on a Sunday,” “Eddie My Love,” “Mr. Sandman,” and many others. Although the last original member recently retired due to health problems and was replaced by Pat Boone’s daughter Lindy Boone, the group continues to entertain sell-out audiences across the world, Richards said.

In their concert repertoire, the ladies include the sounds and songs of other great 50’s girl groups including The Shirelles, The McGuire Sisters, The Supremes, and others.

“Concert goers are in for a nostalgic trip with poodle skirts, cat-eye glasses and girls who love their guys and their cars,” said Richards. “Big Band lovers will tap their feet as The Chordettes sing such standards as “In the Mood,” “Begin the Beguine,” “Stardust,” and “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy.”

The show is expected to sell out early. Tickets are available now online at http://www.missiontheatre.com or can be obtained by calling (760) 731-2278.
