Exhaust can cause fires

SAN DIEGO – Approximately 60 percent of California is covered with brush, grass or wildland timber. Outdoor enthusiasts use many of those areas. It is vitally important that persons operating motorized equipment in these areas use caution and common sense.

The improper use of equipment is rapidly becoming the number one cause of wildland fires in San Diego County. All types of motorized equipment should be in good working order with an approved spark arrestor installed, advised Cal Fire.
