Planning Commission approves Dai Dang monastery - Neighboring farmer plans appeal to Board of Supervisors

The County’s Planning Commission approved a Major Use Permit for the Dai Dang monastery in Bonsall.

The 7-0 vote April 13 includes conditions to require a right turn lane along Camino Del Rey and for buildings close to an adjacent avocado grove to be vacated during aerial pesticide spraying periods for that grove. Although the Planning Commission has the authority to issue a Major Use Permit, the decision can be appealed by either side to the San Diego County Board of Supervisors, and the neighboring avocado grower intends to file an appeal.
