Comments provided by San Diego County’s agricultural commissioner during an April 13 hearing of the county’s Planning Commission indicate that restrictions on the pesticide Abamectin are likely to be eliminated in the near future.
Agricultural commissioner Lisa Leondis could remove Abamectin from its restricted status administratively without San Diego County Board of Supervisors approval, although Leondis noted that she would not make any changes until various issues are reviewed.
