FALLBROOK – At its Monday, May 14 board meeting, the Fallbrook Union High School district Board of Trustees will discuss a proposed change to the instructional calendars for the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 school years. If the change is approved, it would result in the fall semester beginning earlier in August in order for it to be completed by winter break. The spring semester would begin in early January and be completed by early June.
A variety of rationale has been cited for the proposed change, including better timing for mandated exams, better alignment of schedule with colleges and community colleges, and more.
The final decision regarding the calendars will take place at the board meeting of Monday, June 11.
Parents and community members are encouraged to attend these board meetings in order to express thoughts and insights regarding the proposed changes.
