Man Accused of Trying to Abduct Girls to Stand Trial

MURRIETA - A man who allegedly tried to abduct three children during separate roadside encounters in San Jacinto must stand trial for attempted kidnapping and other charges, a judge ruled today.

Kareem Amil Lewis, 33, is accused of accosting and following three girls in February.

Following a three-hour preliminary hearing today, Riverside County Superior Court Judge Timothy Freer ruled there was sufficient evidence to bound Lewis over for trial and set a post-indictment arraignment for May 17.
