Military welcome area receives enhancements

A community effort that began three or four years ago has been continued and improved upon with fresh energy and a number of significant donations. A roadside area in the 3800 block of East Mission Road, just west of the entrance to Interstate 15 that has evolved into a community welcome to military personnel coming and going from Camp Pendleton is not only being made more aesthetically pleasing to the eye, but will be receiving a bronze plaque bearing the official welcome. The property is owned by the County of San Diego.
