CAMP PENDLETON - Explosions audible within 50 miles of Camp Pendleton may be heard in parts of San Diego County and southern Orange County today, as Marine practice removing land mines.
Starting about 7 a.m., combat engineers will lay mine-clearing lines, each containing 1,750 pounds of C-4 explosive, and detonate them, according to a Marine Corps statement.
The training started yesterday and is set to wrap up by about 8 tonight.
