PERRIS - Firefighters today were battling a five-acre vegetation fire in Perris that has the potential to grow to 10 acres, a CalFire spokeswoman said.
The fire, near Dawson Canyon Road and Stuart Drive, was reported at 12:34 p.m., and there were 107 firefighters in nine engines, with three water tenders, a bulldozer and two helicopters battling the blaze at about 3:45 p.m., CalFire's Cheri Patterson said.
No homes were threatened at that time and no injuries have been reported, she said....
