SAN JACINTO - A San Jacinto man was behind bars today on suspicion of using a stolen debit card to buy hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise.
Daniel Mark Briggs, 29, was arrested on suspicion of burglary, fraudulently using a credit card and receiving stolen property about 8:40 p.m. Sunday, sheriff's Sgt. Michelle Larson said.
The card was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 800 block of Yorkshire Lane about 2 p.m. the same day.
"The victim's (debit) card was used at several local businesses in a matter of hours to obtain hundreds of dollars in merchandise," Larson said.
Deputies recovered video of Briggs using the stolen card, she said. He was jailed in the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning in lieu of $5,000 bail. He may be arraigned tomorrow at the Southwest Justice Center in Murrieta.
