UC Riverside Professor Receives $100,000 Grant for Corn Research

RIVERSIDE - A UC Riverside researcher developing a means to identify diseased corn to help growers in Third World countries prevent devastating crop losses was awarded a $100,000 grant in support of his effort, it was announced today.

Bourns College of Engineering Professor Hideaki Tsusui was among more than 100 applicants to receive Grand Challenges Explorations grants from the Seattle-based Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, according to UCR.
