County Offers Businesses Help Figuring out Recycling Regs

RIVERSIDE - Businesses and landlords unsure how they stand to be affected by state recycling regulations taking effect today can seek assistance from the Riverside County Department of Waste Management.

Assembly Bill 341, approved by the Legislature and signed into law by Gov. Jerry Brown last fall, seeks to have 75 percent of waste generated by commercial enterprises and apartment buildings recycled by 2020.

The waste diversion plan is part of the state's goal to conserve landfill space and reduce greenhouse gas emissions to 1990 levels over the next decade.
