Governor orders flags at half-staff in honor of Camp Pendleton-based Marine Pfc. Steven P. Stevens

CAMP PENDLETON - Gov. Jerry Brown ordered the flag at the state Capitol to be flown at half-staff today in honor of a Camp Pendleton-based Marine killed in combat in Afghanistan.

Pfc. Steven P. Stevens II, 23, of Tallahassee, Fla. died June 22 while conducting combat operations in Helmand province.

He was assigned to 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Pendleton.
